http://www.tripadvisor.com/ http://www.tripadvisor.com/ Recently I started a retail and wholesale home wares business in Australia and what better place to buy hand stitched, hand crafted, antique fabrics but Jaipur. A magical city that in my two short visits I have managed to all in love with.
I must admit that it was a little daunting travelling to India for the first time with a grand plan and no real knowledge…. I was in a little over my head!
Luckily my girlfriend and her husband had recently been on a 21-day tour of India with Royal Rajasthan Indian Tours and they had a fantastic time, thanks largely to their tour guide Rampal Rao. She scribbled his details down for me over dinner one night and months later when it was our turn to visit India I contact Rampal and from that moment on everything has been easy.
On our first trip to India we really didn’t have a clear-cut objective but more of an idea and an open mind. Rampal greeted us with a warm welcome and enthusiasm for what he could do to help us. We gave him a broad overview of our needs and what kind of things we where interested in seeing. That was it - He was off! Every day Rampal had new and fantastic suppliers for us to visit.
It was quite amazing that he had understood, in such depth, the sorts of items we where looking to purchase. We bounced from wholesaler to wholesaler each time Rampal taking care of everything. Always negotiating, getting a better deal, working in our favour, with good humour and respect.
My business partner and I where overwhelmed with the success of this trip considering how little planning we had done. We could definitely say that without meeting Rampal this trip would have been far less successful.
Rampal continued to help us once we left Jaipur ensuring all of the suppliers achieved our requirements and that our goods where correctly shipped and on time. Rampal’s ability to communicate with me clearly and effectively in Australia was truly instrumental in starting business in Jaipur.
On my second trip back to Jaipur I was so excited to get back amoungst the craziness, the colour, the history and of course to see my friend Rampal.
Rampal met us at the airport with a huge smile and open arms. I had another crazy work schedule and lots to achieve but thanks to Rampal's organisation and planning, what I thought would be achieved in 8 days was achieved in 5. Rampal had obviously done a lot of research into the best suppliers and products at the best price to suit our needs.
This trip was a breeze and a pure delight and as a result of finishing in a shorter time frame I finally had time to see the sights of Jaipur and it surrounding areas. Rampal is a fantastic tour guide and his 22 years of experience is evident in his professionalism and knowledge.
Rampal’s kind generous heart and positive attitude have made my trips to Jaipur more than work but a wonderful experience full of emotion and joy and I look forward to returning twice a year to continue growing my business and my relationships in Jaipur.
Thanks Ram!
